What vaccines does my dog require?
All dogs that utilize any services at Splash must be current on the following vaccines: Rabies, Distemper and Bordatella. All vaccines must be confirmed by a licensed veterinarian; we cannot accept breeders’ puppy records as proof of vaccines.
What else does my dog need to have in order to join to Splash?
All dogs that utilize any services at Splash must be on an effective flea control regimen and must have had a clear fecal test within the past twelve months.
Do you accept titers?
Due to Animal Control regulations, we cannot accept titers as proof of immunization from any disease.
Do you allow unaltered dogs to attend daycare and to board at Splash?
We do allow dogs under one year of age that are not spayed/neutered; dogs over one year of age must be spayed or neutered in order to participate in daycare and/or boarding.
Is there an extra cost for unaltered dogs?
Dogs over six months of age (male and female) that are unaltered are charged an additional $5 for daycare and an additional $10 for boarding per night.
My female dog is in heat; can I still bring her for boarding or daycare?
We cannot accommodate females in season and we request that you wait a month after the first day of her heat cycle before bringing her back to Splash; this is for her safety and for the safety of the other dogs in our care!
What type of temperament are you looking for in dogs approved for daycare/boarding?
We are looking for dogs that are friendly toward other dogs and people, that can play well with others, and that can be safely handled by our staff. Dogs that are too intense in their play style or that are too dominant to “read” other dogs’ behaviors are not a good fit for group play. Shy or timid dogs can do well in group play as long as they are not snappy or defensive out of fear or nervousness around others; dogs that are afraid of new people or are overly reactive toward being handled are also not good candidates for group play.
My dog has separation anxiety; can he come to Splash to try to get over it?
We can certainly assess your dog’s suitability for our daycare; if their anxiety manifests as excessive whining, barking, trying to escape the yard, etc., then we can recommend alternatives for your dog such as training to help him overcome his anxiety.
I would like to visit your facility before bringing my dog in; can I drop by any time?
Because we are busy with our clients’ dogs both indoors and outdoors, we have limited tour hours: Monday-Sunday, 10-12pm. We will certainly show you the facility when your dog passes their Meet & Greet!
Do I need an appointment to bring my dog to daycare?
No need to call ahead: daycare is on a drop-in basis. All new clients MUST book and Schedule an appointment to complete a temperament assessment of your dog for admission to daycare. Once your dog has passed their assessment, you can bring him/her in at any time during our open hours; they can stay and play for as long as you want your pup to during our open hours.

Do I need an appointment to board my dog?
Yes, you do need to book any and all boarding reservations in advance (we recommend calling at least one week ahead of time for non-holiday boarding and three weeks ahead of time for holiday boarding).
What should I bring for my dog’s boarding?
We recommend bringing your dog’s food (so that there won’t be any digestive or dietary complications); each meal needs to be individually bagged in airtight bags (Ziploc, etc.) for kibble; if your dog eats canned food, please bring an adequate number of cans. We can also accept freeze-dried raw food; we cannot accept actual raw food (chicken wings, raw beef, etc.) due to bacterial risks. Please do not bring any supplies (bowls, blankets, toys, etc.): we have all the bedding, cots, bowls (including slow feeders) and toys your pup will need!
Will my dog wear his collar in the play area?
Yes, we need all dogs to have collars with legible ID / name tags at all times. This is for the safety and security of your dog.
Can I arrange for early drop-off / late pick-ups?
We do allow early drop-offs when scheduled in advance: 6:30-7am Monday-Friday, 7-9am Saturday-Sunday. There is an additional $10 charge for early drop-offs. We cannot accommodate early drop-offs that have not been scheduled in advance. We do not allow for late pick-ups: all dogs must be picked up from daycare / boarding by 7pm Monday-Friday and by 5pm Saturday-Sunday. Dogs that have not been picked up by closing time will be booked into boarding at our emergency boarding rate of $75/night.
What is a Temperament Assessment?
The Temperament Assessment is a free, 4-hour visit for your pup to get to know Splash and for us to get to know you! First, we will verify your vaccine records and go over our service contract; then we will take your pup back to our play area where it will be gradually introduced to our pack (we use this visit to determine the right play group for your dog based on age, energy level, size, temperament – everything factors into finding the best fit). After about an hour of playtime, we will bring your dog indoors to ensure that he/she is comfortable resting on it's own and that he/she doesn’t struggle with separation anxiety or other stressors. After a brief nap, your dog will be able to re-join the play group for the rest of their four hour visit. When you come to pick your dog up, we will show you which pack was the best fit for your dog, where it would sleep if boarding, etc. Your dog will go home tired and happy, looking forward to his/her next visit!
Do dogs sleep separately or slumber party style?
Dogs boarding at Splash sleep in their own suite or crate, depending on where he is most comfortable. Dogs in the same family can share a suite.
By what time do I have to drop off my dog for boarding?
All boarding dogs must be dropped off by 3pm. There are no exceptions to this policy.
Who should I list as my emergency contact?
The emergency contact we request on your contract and when you board your dog should be someone who would be able to pick up your dog on your behalf if needed. This need could arise if your dog gets sick or injured or if a behavioral issue arises that excludes him from group play. If your dog needs to be picked up earlier than scheduled, we will first attempt to notify you, then we will call your emergency contact. If no-one collects your dog on the day we notify you of the need to pick up, you will incur emergency boarding costs of $75 for every additional night your dog has to stay at Splash.
My dog hasn’t been there in over three months; can I still bring my dog for daycare?
Yes, you can still bring your dog for daycare, but please verify that his/her vaccines are still up to date in our system by calling ahead to confirm.
My dog doesn’t get along well with other dogs. Can you still accommodate him for a day or overnight stay?
Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity at our facility to accommodate dogs that need individualized care and exercise for daycare or boarding.
At what point will daycare charges be added to my boarding cost?
Our boarding prices are on a twenty-four hour basis: if you drop your dog off at 12pm one day and pick him/her up at 12pm the next day, there are no additional daycare costs. If you drop him/her off at 12pm one day and pick your dog up later than 12pm the next day, then daycare costs accrue (hourly, half-day or full day)
Do you provide bathing or grooming services?
We offer bathing services, including nail trims, to our daycare and boarding clients during their visits to Splash; we do not offer full grooming services (haircuts, shave downs, etc..).
What are your office hours?
Office hours are 7am-7pm Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm Saturday-Sunday. The office is closed on major holidays with limited hours the day after a major holiday.
